Kunst im Kiez
Bundesdruckerei GmbH supports street-art projects in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin

Federal President Horst Köhler together with Mrs Eva Köhler, Ulrich Hamann (CEO of Bundesdruckerei GmbH) and artists from street-art projects
"Kunst im Kiez" was the motto of the appearance made by artists from "StreetUniverCity Berlin" and "senior street art" at the 2008 summer party hosted by the Federal President. At this year's event, Bundesdruckerei presented the two sponsored street art projects.
The projects chosen underline Bundesdruckerei's commitment to the district of Berlin which has been home to the company for more than 125 years. The objective of the "Kunst im Kiez" initiative is to support both young and senior citizens in Berlin.
With this commitment, Bundesdruckerei is building a bridge between generations. Despite the difference in age, the two groups have one thing in common: they have succeeded in breaking new ground with their form of art and are thus demonstrating their responsibility for their district.
"StreetUniverCity Berlin" is a project of the NaunynRitze centre for children, juveniles and culture which organises seminars, courses and workshops for young people from underprivileged families in order to support and make better use of their social and creative potential.
The fact that art in the public domain is not limited to young people is demonstrated by the "senior street art" project which especially addresses senior citizens. Art workshops, events and field trips focusing on street art are organised for this target group under the motto "Give your experience of life to the public".
Bundesdruckerei is sponsoring the "StreetUniverCity Berlin" so that it can continue its work and also supports the "senior street art" project so that it can develop new projects and events in the near future.
